Madame Pomegranate
Paris Tribe:
I know you know, that feelin’
Eye know you know, that vibe
I know you know, that feelin’
Eye know you know, that vibe
Walk up in the club like ya shit don’t stink
Everybody do a double take, double blink
Even if you stumble, you don’t fumble, you on beat
You don’t want no trouble or to rumble
You so humble, you ain’t come here to compete
Two step to your seat =Grown man with It, grown woman with It
You don’t live around here, you just came to visit
So, let’s be specific,
We gone walk up in this muhfugga, act mystic
No? We gone take charge of the vibe
Take it to the next level, charge it inside
Then reciprocate It, duplicate It outside
Even if They don’t believe it,
They gone still receive it, Jerry Rice.
Paris Tribe: Eye ain’t come here to act all slick. Eye ain’t come here to start no shit. I just came here to sip my drink. (Let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see it) I just came here to Dance & Think (let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see it) Yeah, To Dance & Think (Go on, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see it) To Dance & Think (Go on let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see it) To Dance& Think (let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see ya cut a rug, let me see it) Yeah, To Dance & Think
Eye did not come into this placeto just sit here&act like a fool
I was not born into this race to go broke cuz I played by
your fuckin’ rules, I did not put on these clothes to
be treated like hoes waitin’ for pimps
I Am like no one you know
I ain’t evolve from no primitive chimps
So, let’s just let tonight be like one mass strike
A limited glimpse, of limitless strength composed to ignite
A vessel like Us a petal reassembled from a flower’s dust
That middle-aged Cocteau crushed
while Orpheus rushed to thrust enough words in the air
to dare Persephone to blush
Plus, get to groovin’ in the sigil, burnin’ sage to reengage

To Dance & Think… Yeah, To Dance & Think

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell

I haven't heard anything as just completely perfectly formed out of the gate--every decision the right one, what to include but more what to exclude--maybe ever. Don't know who Sault is, but they do not sound like they could be anyone who hasn't paid some dues to get this good. Or signed some Satanic contracts. 100% confidence, and it sounds 110% earned.
